All I need to know now is where I'm going.

---hey dandee,,, have you notice that your handicap should be less because of the new rule:::

(2.2.1.1 If the engine is not standard to the frame then the YOM will be the average of the year of the
frame and the year of the engine rounded up to the next whole year...)

---if you average your 2003 frame with say??? 1980 (p200) motor, that equals, 1992.......................

new in here and this looked like a good place to introduce myself. name is dave and i have a 2009 zuma 125 with a 155 kit. small scoot considering what others have and the modifications to last years winner. really admire the build skills on that project while at the same time not agreeing with it for the cannonball. but that's a discussion all by itself. :D

been watching the cbr for a couple of years now and really wanted to make the run last year but couldn't talk the wife into being a support vehicle. doesn't look like i'll get her to agree to it this year either, but been putting finances aside for sometime just to do this. getting to the starting point will be the hard part.

anyway, still hoping to be able to make this ride and still making mods to the scoot. hoping to enlarge the fuel tank to at least double the capacity. considering the starting point, that would be a good thing to have.

have a lot of build pics already on facebook. look for springfield scooterclub.

For those looking for a ride I saw this today on Denver Craigs List
http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/3977463855.html

78 vespa 200cc scooter - $600 (brighton)
I am reposting this bike due some issues with the buyer if interested I lowered the price also we were able to get the bike started won't idle due to bad fuel tho
i have a 1978 vespa 200cc ,blue in good shape had it running last summer ,has not been registered since the 80s ,very clean NO TITLE unfortunately asking $600 if interested call/txt ted at 720-936-9668 this is not a must sell so please dont try and low ball me the bike is small and takes up little room in the garage

I have to admit that even though I'm not a wrencher this really tempts me but my husband would kill me if I bought another scooter.

Yeah I saw that one too and was tempted but wasn't sure which scooter. The one in the first pic or the other in the last 3.

Text and ask him. We'll be trailering our BV back to Houston leaving Breck August 22 give or take. I suspect I could talk my husband into putting the second rail in and carrying it as far as Houston for ya. If you'd like me to take a look at it for you PM me, not that I'm an expert on vintage but I can at least tell if it is as advertised. :)

That's a brilliant idea!

The TST sticker is still on the stop sign at The Padre Inn.

The stars may finally align and I will give in to peer pressure and ride this time. Can't pass up this route. The current plan is to ride my GTS. She's been relatively good to me so far but with 40,000 miles I may be pushing my luck. Will look into other options. Only planning/prepping I've done is upgrade my gps.

I'm shopping for an Elite 250 or Helix.

As much as I'd love to ride my LX, with 34+K on it and a new "what's that noise?" every couple months, it's just not up to it. Poor scoot also bogs down at altitude. Though I'd like to spring for something with fuel injection, I think I may have to go the budget route.

I will attempt to ride the 2009 2T Stella that seized at 788 miles on the 2012 Cannonball.
It'll have 8-9K miles on it by then, but for now, still using the original spark plug, piston and rings.
Just going to keep speeds to 53 and below......mostly a lot below.
