Charity and sponsor banners

Postby OopsClunkThud » Wed Mar 19, 2008 7:06 pm

I'm considering adding banners to the top and bottom of both the main cannonball site as well as the forum. these would not be for sale but would be available to registered riders to promote the charities they are riding for and the sponsors that are helping them.

I'm thinking the charities would get the banner at the top of the page and the sponsors, the one at the bottom. The charities are easy as most riders tend to focus on only one but each rider could have a different number of sponsors. To be fair I think each rider should be equally represented regardless of how many sponsors. kind of like there's only so much area on the scooter for stickers so if you have one sponsor it can be a really big sticker but if you have 20 then it's a bunch of small ones.

Thoughts, ideas?

A really nice idea but maybe a pain in the butt for you to do as webmaster?

OK, I turned this into a poll.

I've got it figured out how to make it fair and make setting up the banners not too much trouble. So, if the consensus is that we want this I'll put it in place.

Just thought it would be a good thing to be able to offer when going after sponsors.

Here's how it will work. You'll need to provide:
1. the banner jpg or gif (may be able to do a png but I'll need to check) sized 468x60 with no animation.
2. the url to link to when the image is clicked
3. optional - the alt text to display when the mouse is over the image.
4. If you want to have more than one sponsor add you will need to specify the % split for each add.
